The WelTec Hub is a space for students to hang, socialise and learn.

Completed at super-sonic pace, the Hub project was designed, detailed and constructed in 70 days.

A simple two storey steel frame was inserted into a dim and wind swept courtyard to create a new student heart at WelTec’s Petone campus. At the ground floor, the Hub provides a student focussed place, that connects cafeteria, Student Association offices and Information Commons functions.

Once separated upper level podiums are now connected and refurbished to create the Denford MacDonald Learning Centre. This state of the art library and learning support facility provides direct student assistance for study, learning and research needs. The space transforms a prior archaic library environment into a facility that is vibrant, supportive, funky and relaxed to foster best student learning outcomes.
